Hello
Very interesting tool (that could be implemented in qtVlm? this is a subliminal message to Philippe ...
I don't have the details of the computing (you mention average on another forum), but in my opinion, it would be important to:
- select the best speed among similar ones (for each TWA and TWS of course)
- remove the highest or lowest ones is they are totaly different from the others. It could be due to external factors like a 'surf'
- add a visual to see where are the breaks in the curve and to correct them manually (a break can be explained at the sail change as from genois to genaker for example, but out of these changes, the graphics are generally smooth)
- it could be interesting to add an information (I don't know how, this is my Santa Claus letter !) as the sails used for the record. Then, the tool would do the polar AND the sailselect. Or it can do different polars files based on the sails used. This function is generally missing in most of the tools.
Do you know patricktiercelin.wixsite.com/logiciels-t...in1/logiciel-polauto it is a tool to build a polar based on the NMEA record. Some idea could be shared.
I would be pleased to help if I can.
