Wave polars?

Wave polars? was created by Wesa
Hi! We are working on an article about connectivity in the Baltic Sea region during the Viking Age, and we are using qtVlm for sailing simulations. Wind polars have been published for Viking Age ship reconstructions; however, we would also like to test the effect of waves but have not been able to find suitable data for a qtVlm-style wave polar.

Has anyone created a wave polar for a modern vessel, preferably one based on measurements? If so, would you be willing to assist us with our research? Anything that could serve even as a very rough approximation of a Viking ship would be extremely helpful. In this case, we have the 14 meter long Skuldelev 3 in mind:

Hi,

There are several waves polars that come with the software, you can use them as exemple (cruising, dinghy, sailboat, trawler and even tanker). The interesting part is also to add wave steepness in the equation, this is described in the documentation.
